PEDIGREE

Crystal is no longer with us.
I sold her to a person that I thought I could trust to find out differently.

Crystal was sold to E.J Cockers for 1 breeding and then keeping her
there fixed as a spoiled pet which later I found untrue.

Prior to Crystal leaving Crystal had a Health Certificate.
We have a Dental Plan for our dogs and it by the State.
So, I know for a fact that her teeth were just fine before she left.
E.J Cockers says otherwise.

2 years later after having her and not cleaning her teeth or doing extractions
Which mind you dogs should have their teeth cleaned yearly.
She complains because they are bad.
Plus, you add on age to her, you need to expect the older they get the
more prone to bad dental they will have.
Lets say for shits and giggles they were bad when she got Crystal
which I don't believe for a second, why did she not take her to the vet
to get a 100.00 plus procedure done instead of waiting 2 years+.

I was contacted and told Crystal was at a Kill Shelter.
That it was a either a Friday or Saturday and we had till Monday
to get her because they are going to put her down.
The breeder of Crystal was talking to the Kill Shelter at that time
trying to get her back from them and I even told the breeder
that I would pay 1/2 of the shipping to the breeders home.
I was told that ONLY the breeder was able to get her back.
And that E.J. Cockers turned Crystal in.
They they had all the paperwork on this dog - sounding like AKC papers etc.
Some how there was miscommunication and the breeder didn't have her
back on Monday, so I assumed she was put down.

I contacted E.J. Cockers by phone just after I hung up about
the news with Crystal and she told me that she gave her away.
She gave her to a lady in her 30's
Who then surrendered her to the kill shelter.
She was baffled how I knew when it just happened hours ago.
I asked E. J Cockers if she would go there to get her
and she told me that they wouldn't let her have her since she is not the breeder
plus it was a long drive from her house to the kill shelter.
That was the last time I talked to this lady.
I started chatting with the breeder seeing if I could help get Crystal back.
With the breeder not getting her back Monday I assumed they put her down.
Which was a very sad thing because then I had to break the news to Mark
who dearly loved Crystal as she was his side kick that she was possibly put down.
He was very pissed about the whole thing as I was as I thought that this
was going to be a good home where she could be around her kids and possibly
tons of attention with less dogs.

I then in June get a call about Crystal from a breeder that has not
been in cockers as much in the last I don't know how many years
asking about Crystal which was odd.
I come to find out that Crystal is back at E.J Cockers.
She tells me that she is for sale for 500.00
and that she will sell her with a contract that you can purchase her
to breed one litter of puppy and then fix her.
Plus, selling her with her needing dental work.  (Not yet done?)
Crystal at this time is only weeks from being 8 years old.

Where she has went from the breeder to me, to EJ to supposed lady and now to someone else to breed and then placed again.  Did I get that right?

Where in all reality it was that she was to go from Breeder to Me from Me to EJ Cockers.

With hearing this news that Crystal was alive was great news.
It was hard to actually believe it, because it was through this other breeder
that I was told she was alive.
She didn't even call to let me know that she got her.
So, me personally I didn't believe that she got her back.
It was not until June 29th 2011 that I found a photo of Crystal on Facebook
did I truly believe that she has Crystal.
I feel that now she wants a pat on the back for doing the right thing
for getting her out of the kill shelter when if she did give her away
she should of went there and got her because that is the right thing to do since
she gave her to that person.
I feel that she wants a pat on her back because she is keeping her as a spoiled pet.
When she bought her from me that is what she was suppose to be.
If she has bad teeth, why make her wait longer to get them fixed.
It all ties into responsible dog ownership.

NEW NEWS UPDATE :

Crystal was turned in as a stray the morning of 08/13/2011 as
she was found in a camp ground in the Plum Tree area.
Revival makes contact stating Crystal is now at
Avery Co. Humane Society in Newland, NC.
This is the 2nd time Crystal has been in a Shelter in 6 months.

I called Earlene Johnson asking if she lost Crystal and she replies, why?
I tell her because she was found muddy and is in this shelter.
She then tells me that got her teeth cleaned and after the recovery process
because they put her on antibiotics that the gave her away to an older couple.
But when the older couple took her to their vet, their vet said she didn't look like
she had her teeth cleaned at all.
So, I don't know if there was a feud between the couple and Earlene.
I was also told that the couple didn't no longer want her.
Then I ask has she been fixed, because she is 8 years old
because they could of done this when she got her teeth cleaned.
Her reply was it is none of your business, it is none of your business what happens to
this dog, I don't care if I bought her from you, I don't care if Rhonda is the breeder.
I don't know why Revival is constantly contacting you.
I gave her away.
Well, Duh, the chip is still registered and not with you!

And, Yes Mrs. Johnson it is our business!
Any responsible breeder and previous owner who cared about a dog let alone this dog
would care where Crystal ended up, no person with any smarts would want a dog
in a shelter for the 2nd time.

After I asked about her getting fixed Earlene hung the phone up and would
not pick up the phone to continue our conversation.
As I called her back and she would pick up the phone and hang it up.
Just like a little kid.

Although I am not Crystals breeder I felt compelled to help Crystal as
she has contributed to our Cocker Spaniel breed by producing
multiple Champion off spring.
Someone needed to help this wonderful girl.

I contacted Humane Society where Crystal was at and
gave her Crystals name since she was a stray and gave the lady her DOB
and told her many good things about her.
Just incase Rhonda or I couldn't get her back.
She did say there was a lady interested in her.
Prior to Crystal leaving she would be fixed, FINALLY!

But the lady that was interested in her that was local to the shelter,
the director of the shelter stated that she would not be a good home for
Crystal or any dog for that matter.

So, I have been working around the clock trying to set up connections,
Vet appointments, flight, ground transport, pilot transport, semi transport,
talking to the Director of the Shelter, talking to multiple rescue groups
not just in cockers but in other species as well a dear lady who lives
less than a hour away.

Thousands of people have watched on facebook and been in contact
through email of what the progress with Crystal is.
Many are wishing to donate to help with the cost of her rescue.

Then Earlene posts on Facebook so thankful for all the people who are
concerned about Crystal.  Poor dog has been through hell.
She now has another awesome home.  Happy for her she is an awesome girl.
She posts that Aug 15th at 12:55p.m. on her Facebook wall
minutes later I contacted Avery Co. Humane Society to make sure Crystal
was still there and of course Crystal was still in the shelter.

Crystal was not released by Avery Co. Humane Society until 08/16/2011
No words can describe this person.

Crystal was removed from Avery Co. Humane Society on 08/16/2011 at approx 2:30 p.m.
I contacted a rescue who then put me in contact with Kim.
Kim is not with a rescue but doing this all voluntary.
Kim removed Crystal from the Humane Society.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU
Kim M. & Colette S.
and
Heart to Heart Rescue
and
all those who donated to getting Crystal to safety.

She currently is the hands of Kim who tells me that
she has an eye infection

Kim has been working hard to get Crystals eye to a normal state.

But she is safe!

The director told me that she was calling Earlene back to tell her
that the dog is not available, but some how Earlene gets Kim's
information including her phone number and starts calling Kim.

I got told by multiple breeders that Earlene has told them that
she gave Crystal away as well as Earlene telling me that.
Plus she told that to the Director of the Shelter
She also told it on Kim's machine.
Once a person give a person a dog with or without papers
that dog becomes property of the new owner.

Since the new owner did not claim their dog and Crystal was
considered "unclaimed" she was available for adoption after 72 hours
as there is a mandatory hold on animals turned in as a stray.
After that time expires, the shelter can dispose of the animal in any humane way
that includes putting her to sleep.
Since Crystal is not a cute puppy or even a couple years old her odds of being
put to sleep were greater and her odds of being adopted slim to none.

Earlene starts to throw a fit because she does not get her from the shelter.
With the claim that is owned by her.
On Saturday morning 08/13/2011 she was notified by me and on Monday
she talked to the director, why she was not at the shelter at 8 a.m. to pick her up
is beyond me..
But in reality she was not the owner, she gave the dog away.
If she was yours, how did she end up from So. Carolina to No. Carolina?

So, she now contacts Kim multiple times threatening to call the police on her.
She calls the Director of the shelter, she calls the board.
She calls multiple other places throwing a fit.
Continues with saying I got AKC papers she is mine.
AKC papers are just a reg. it does not prove ownership of a dog.

I wish this person would just stop!

Crystal went from being the hands of Kim to Colette S.
Colette was able to meet up with Kim and final arrangements
were made to get Crystal to her final destination.

Crystal on 8/21/2011 made it to her new retirement home.
Medical attention will be sought and Crystal will not
have to worry about going into a shelter again.
She will not have to worry about having puppies.
She will not have to worry about being given away or passed from one person
to the next and ever worry about being in a shelter again.

I am truly amazed and thankful for the Cocker Community that has helped.
For what seems a bunch of Cocker Breeders that can't get along
we sure are pulling together when it is one of our own.
I also learned who truly are my friends and put them apart from those who only
say they are friends.  I have learned in the last week who when called upon really
will step up and for those of you who did.
I am sure, talking for Crystal she thanks you.

Thank you,
